Human Writers editor Caitlin O’Toole at the Feast Festival writing workshop.

A big thank you to the City of Charles Sturt for hosting a wonderful session on 1 October 2025 — it was a joy to hear so many stories shared in such a warm and welcoming space, and we look forward to the possibility of future workshops together.

And another heartfelt thank you to Feast Festival, SA Power Networks, and the Aldinga Library for hosting a special LGBTQIA+ edition of Write From the Start! on 22 November 2025. It was an inspiring session, and the feedback from participants was incredibly moving.

I feel inspired. It feels stimulating and grounding to write about my memories and it brought a smile to my insides remembering! Wish it could have been longer.

I want to say a big thank you for yesterday’s brilliant memoir writing workshop. I really appreciated you sharing your time, expertise, talent and warmth … it was a truly valuable morning and sped by far too quickly.

Thank you so much for the wonderful workshop. I so enjoyed it and am really feeling so motivated and inspired to ‘Just Do It.’ I hope you will consider doing a follow-up workshop.

I feel a compulsion to tell anyone interested in writing [that] Caitlin O’Toole, principal writer/editor/motivator at The Human Writers, is the first person who has given me the precious gift of stamping out all the self doubt that I found being exacerbated by a number of writing groups who expect everyone to follow rules and regulations when deciding to start writing.

The idea is to follow one’s own thoughts and write them down as they happen, and feel empowered with the newly gained knowledge through the trust and motivation provided by The Human Writers group … it’s simply priceless!

Thank you Caitlin, you’ve restored my faith in my own ability to write and put me on track to accomplish something I’ve always longed to do.
